How to Write a Resume on WordPad
How to Write a Resume on WordPadWriting a resume on WordPad is more challenging than it might sound. The main reason for this is because WordPad is a text only application that's full of colors, graphics and other elements that make the document look like a real page. This makes reading the document a real challenge. So how do you overcome the challenge of writing a resume on WordPad? There are a couple of options to choose from. The first option is to use the Windows ribbon on the left side of the screen and navigate to the 'apply' icon. This will allow you to customize your document by rearranging it and adding some additional features. The other option is to use a free text editor like Notepad and make your document into a WordPad document. Of course, there are many good free word processors on the Internet but many are really not suited for such tasks. Personally, I don't think that using a free text editor is a good idea because you're opening up yourself to a potential vulnerabil ity to viruses and Trojans. Also, it is not the best way to format your document. The best option is to use a professional text editor like Microsoft Word. Here are a few tips to make the process easier:o In WordPad, navigate to the options menu by clicking on the 'options' button at the bottom of the screen. You can also access the options menu by pressing the 'windows' key. Click on the 'options' button and you'll see a drop down menu.o Select 'pages' and you'll see a drop down menu which will include 'save as'. Click on this and then 'save as type'. This option should read something like 'all files types (doc, doc, ppt, xls, also, pdf, and ods).' By selecting 'all files types' this means that you will be saving your document in all of the popular formats. You'll be able to use the application for a longer period of time because you'll be able to access your documents using one application instead of several.o Once you have your document saved as a WordPad document, you'll need to begin formatting it. For example, on WordPad the 'format' menu will be located at the very top of the screen. Right click on the 'format' menu and you'll see a dialog box appear that will allow you to format your document. Some formatting options include font size, align, margins, alignment, page margins, font style, background color, bold and italicize, align alignment and font direction. Now you have all of the tools needed to format your resume in a text editor. Hopefully you'll be able to achieve the same success that I was able to with my own WordPad document.
